About Me

My interest in nutritional science began at an early age, when I realized that baking is like a science experiment that you can eat when you are finished.  As a child, I began collecting cookbooks, entering baking competitions, and trying out every new recipe I could get my hands on.  Being in a kitchen felt comfortable, and I still love creating goodies to share with people.  Every time I see someone’s face light up when I make something for them, I am reassured that spreading joy through cooking will never get old.

In high school, I started to become increasingly aware of and fascinated by the relationship between diet and health, and I became more interested in the nutritional content of my creations.  After taking nutrition classes at Butte College, and earning an Associate in Science degree in Nutrition and Food Sciences and an Associate in Arts degree in Social and Behavioral Science, I decided to transfer to CSU Chico and become a Dietetics major.  I will be graduating in May of 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics with a minor in Foodservice Administration.
